Custom millwork in Scugog

Custom millwork is anything built for a specific room that a catalogue cannot supply: built-ins, panelling, feature walls, concealed doors. Scugog centres on Port Perry's heritage streets and the houses ringing Lake Scugog, many of them added to over the years. Century houses ask for panelling that follows existing trim and scribes to plaster; newer houses ask for feature walls and built-ins that give a plain room a centre.

Custom millwork · Scugog

Scugog, on the ground.

Narrow halls and turning stairs in the older village houses decide whether tall units ship in one piece or two. Panels and boxes are cut and finished in the shop, dry-fitted, then delivered and scribed to your walls and ceilings on site.

Lakeside rooms in Scugog have little solid wall, so storage moves into deep drawers and a single tall run.

Custom millwork questions from Scugog

Asked before the first call.

Do you take small millwork jobs in Scugog?

Yes. A single built-in, a window seat or one panelled wall in Scugog goes through the same measure, drawing and shop build as a whole kitchen.

Can millwork in Scugog match my kitchen finish?

Yes. If we built the kitchen the finish comes from the same deck and veneer lot. If someone else did, bring a door and we match the colour or species from a sample.

Do you handle properties that are not occupied year round?

Yes. We ask for a key holder or a site contact, confirm that heat and power will be on during the install, and photograph the finished work for you if you cannot be there. Anything needing a decision on site is sent to you with a photo before we carry on.

Our Port Perry house has a narrow hall and a turning stair. Is that a problem?

It is a measurement, not a problem. We take the hall width, the stair turn and the ceiling at the landing, then build anything that will not fit in one piece as sections joined on site. The joint lands on a reveal, so it reads as part of the design rather than a repair.
