Feature walls in Georgina
Shoreline lanes can be narrow and some driveways drop toward the water, so access is checked before the truck is loaded. We measure the wall and every plate on it, machine and finish the panels in our shop, then install against a checked substrate and hold the shadow gaps constant. A feature wall is fluted or slat millwork set out so the rhythm lands correctly at both ends, with any door in the wall built from the same panel.

Much of Georgina's housing began as lakefront cottages and was converted to year-round use, so framing and ceiling heights vary inside a single room. Older homes bring plaster walls that are rarely plumb and need packing behind the panels, while newer builds give flat drywall and taller ceilings that suit a full-height run. Kitchens, wet bars, closets and built-ins around fireplaces make up most of the Georgina work.
Rooms facing the water in Georgina take strong daylight, so we look at door samples in the room before the finish is chosen.

Each wall is quoted on its own line off the setting-out drawing, so the panelling, the concealed door and the returns are all visible as separate items.

Can a feature wall be installed in an occupied Georgina home?
Yes. The machining and finishing happen in our shop, so the site work is fixing panels and adjusting reveals. That keeps the dust and the noise in the room for [n] days rather than across the whole project.
Can the wall carry a television or shelves?
Yes, with blocking behind it. We need the bracket details and the screen size at step 01 so the blocking is drawn in and the panel joints fall where the mount will hide them.
Can you do a bar for the room facing the lake?
Yes. A wet bar or a dry bar is a normal run for us: base cabinets, a counter, glass storage, a bottle drawer and an appliance panel if you want the undercounter fridge hidden. We ask where people stand when the room is busy, then keep the traffic side clear of doors that swing into it.
Do you work in Sutton and Jackson's Point, not only Keswick?
Yes, all of Georgina. We confirm delivery access before the truck is loaded, because some shoreline lanes are narrow and some driveways drop toward the water. [Kam confirms scheduling for the far side of the lake.] The install itself runs the same way it does anywhere else we work.
