Feature walls in Oshawa
A feature wall is fluted or slat millwork set out so the rhythm lands correctly at both ends, with any door in the wall built from the same panel. Oshawa's older core has small kitchens, low basement ceilings and rooms with several doorways, while the north end is newer and larger. Older homes bring plaster walls that are rarely plumb and need packing behind the panels, while newer builds give flat drywall and taller ceilings that suit a full-height run.

Driveways are often short and streets near downtown can be narrow, so delivery is planned around where the truck can stop. We measure the wall and every plate on it, machine and finish the panels in our shop, then install against a checked substrate and hold the shadow gaps constant.
Cabinet sizes in older Oshawa houses are set by the walls and doorways rather than by standard widths.

Each wall is quoted on its own line off the setting-out drawing, so the panelling, the concealed door and the returns are all visible as separate items.

Can a feature wall be installed in an occupied Oshawa home?
Yes. The machining and finishing happen in our shop, so the site work is fixing panels and adjusting reveals. That keeps the dust and the noise in the room for [n] days rather than across the whole project.
Can the wall carry a television or shelves?
Yes, with blocking behind it. We need the bracket details and the screen size at step 01 so the blocking is drawn in and the panel joints fall where the mount will hide them.
What if you find something behind the old cabinets?
It happens in older houses: a pipe in the wall, a patch of missing plaster, a chase nobody knew about. We stop, photograph it and tell you what we found before carrying on. Anything that changes the scope is written up as a line and agreed before the work is done, not after.
Our kitchen is small and has three doorways. Is custom worth it?
That is the case where it pays most. Stock widths jump in fixed steps, so a small room loses inches at every stop. We size each cabinet to the wall it sits on, keep the door swings clear of each other and put drawers where a hinged door would foul a doorway. The rendering shows the swings.
