Feature walls in Ajax
Ajax is dominated by subdivision houses from the 1990s onward, with a band of older streets near the lake. Older homes bring plaster walls that are rarely plumb and need packing behind the panels, while newer builds give flat drywall and taller ceilings that suit a full-height run. A feature wall is fluted or slat millwork set out so the rhythm lands correctly at both ends, with any door in the wall built from the same panel.

Kitchens, tall pantries, laundry rooms and closet fit-outs are the common jobs in Ajax. We measure the wall and every plate on it, machine and finish the panels in our shop, then install against a checked substrate and hold the shadow gaps constant.
Many kitchens in Ajax share the same builder footprint, so the gains come from the corner, the fridge wall and the run under the window.

Each wall is quoted on its own line off the setting-out drawing, so the panelling, the concealed door and the returns are all visible as separate items.

Can a feature wall be installed in an occupied Ajax home?
Yes. The machining and finishing happen in our shop, so the site work is fixing panels and adjusting reveals. That keeps the dust and the noise in the room for [n] days rather than across the whole project.
Can the wall carry a television or shelves?
Yes, with blocking behind it. We need the bracket details and the screen size at step 01 so the blocking is drawn in and the panel joints fall where the mount will hide them.
Can you match new cabinetry to what we already have?
We can match a painted finish closely and we can match a door profile. Wood grain and older factory finishes are harder, because they change as they age. The honest answer is that a match is easiest when the new work sits in a different room. We tell you at the sample stage which way it will go.
We want the fridge to look built in. Is that possible in a standard house?
Usually. A panel-ready fridge takes appliance panels that match your doors. A standard fridge can instead be boxed with tall gables and a deep upper so the front lines up with the cabinetry. The second route needs the wall depth checked and the water line set back. Both are drawn before you decide.
