Custom millwork in Ajax
Custom millwork is anything built for a specific room that a catalogue cannot supply: built-ins, panelling, feature walls, concealed doors. Kitchens, tall pantries, laundry rooms and closet fit-outs are the common jobs in Ajax.

Ajax, on the ground.
Ajax is dominated by subdivision houses from the 1990s onward, with a band of older streets near the lake. Century houses ask for panelling that follows existing trim and scribes to plaster; newer houses ask for feature walls and built-ins that give a plain room a centre. Driveways and attached garages give the crew a clear path, and most installs load in through the garage. Panels and boxes are cut and finished in the shop, dry-fitted, then delivered and scribed to your walls and ceilings on site.
Many kitchens in Ajax share the same builder footprint, so the gains come from the corner, the fridge wall and the run under the window.

No figures published. The drivers, in order.
| Driver | What we look at |
|---|---|
| Square footage of finished face | Millwork is priced by the finished surface and the number of parts behind it. |
| Material and finish | Painted MDF panels sit at one end; sequence-matched walnut and solid fluting at the other. |
| Site conditions | Out-of-square walls, sloped ceilings and bulkheads add scribing and site time. |
| Hidden function | Concealed doors, lighting, drawers behind panels and stone all add parts and trades. |
The number comes from the drawings, line by line. Colour and hardware are the smallest lines on a millwork quote.
Asked before the first call.
Do you take small millwork jobs in Ajax?
Yes. A single built-in, a window seat or one panelled wall in Ajax goes through the same measure, drawing and shop build as a whole kitchen.
Can millwork in Ajax match my kitchen finish?
Yes. If we built the kitchen the finish comes from the same deck and veneer lot. If someone else did, bring a door and we match the colour or species from a sample.
Can you match new cabinetry to what we already have?
We can match a painted finish closely and we can match a door profile. Wood grain and older factory finishes are harder, because they change as they age. The honest answer is that a match is easiest when the new work sits in a different room. We tell you at the sample stage which way it will go.
We want the fridge to look built in. Is that possible in a standard house?
Usually. A panel-ready fridge takes appliance panels that match your doors. A standard fridge can instead be boxed with tall gables and a deep upper so the front lines up with the cabinetry. The second route needs the wall depth checked and the water line set back. Both are drawn before you decide.
