Media walls in North York
A media wall holds the television, the fireplace and the equipment in one piece drawn for the room, with the cables inside the millwork. Full kitchens with islands and butler pantries lead here, along with mudrooms, walk-in closets and fitted wall units.

North York holds postwar bungalows with plaster and bulkheads on the same streets as new two-storey rebuilds with nine and ten foot ceilings. Newer open-plan rooms often need a media wall to give the space a centre; older living rooms usually have a chimney breast the millwork builds around. Lots are wide and driveways are deep, so a delivery truck can park on site and boxes go straight in through the front or garage door. The wall is built and wired in the shop, delivered in sections and installed over [n] days, with the electrician making the final connections.
A new build in North York allows one long uninterrupted run, so the decisions are about reveals, panel widths and ceiling height rather than working around what is already there.

Can you build a media wall in a North York condo?

How long does a media wall take in North York?

Our new kitchen has ten foot ceilings. What goes above the upper cabinets?
Three usual answers: run the uppers full height and accept a step stool for the top row, add a shorter second row of doors with a reveal between them, or stop the uppers and finish with a deeper crown. Each is drawn against your measured ceiling height so you can judge the proportion.
Can you make the fridge and dishwasher disappear into the cabinetry?
Yes, with appliance panels. The appliance has to be panel ready, so we need the model before the run is designed: hinge side, panel weight and door thickness all change the box and the reveal around it. Send us the spec sheet at the drawing stage.
