Media walls in Aurora
Driveways are deep and garages attached in the newer areas, while the older core has narrower drives and a step up at the back door. The wall is built and wired in the shop, delivered in sections and installed over [n] days, with the electrician making the final connections. A media wall holds the television, the fireplace and the equipment in one piece drawn for the room, with the cables inside the millwork.

Aurora has century houses with later back additions in the older core and newer subdivision housing with nine foot main floor ceilings east and north of it. Newer open-plan rooms often need a media wall to give the space a centre; older living rooms usually have a chimney breast the millwork builds around. Kitchens, mudrooms off the garage, second floor laundry rooms, closets and wall units.
Where a Aurora kitchen sits in a later addition, the addition rarely meets the original house square, so the transition is designed as a panelled return rather than a butt joint.

Our kitchen is in an addition on an older Aurora house. Does that complicate things?
It changes the measure. Additions often meet the original house out of square and at a slightly different floor level, so we measure both rooms, record the step and design the transition as a filler or a panelled return rather than pretending the two walls agree with each other.
Can you build storage into a second floor laundry room?
Yes. The usual package is a counter across the machine pair, a tall unit beside them for supplies, a rail for hanging and a pull out for the basket. We need the machine model and whether they stack or sit side by side, because that sets the counter height and the door swing.
