Custom cabinetry in Aurora
Valmont designs, builds and installs custom cabinetry in Aurora: kitchens, mudrooms, laundry rooms, closets and wall units. The older core around Yonge and Wellington has century houses on deep lots with small back kitchens added later, and an addition is rarely square to the house it was added to. That shows up as a run where one end wall leans away. We take the measurement at three heights and design the fillers to swallow the difference.
Aurora, on the ground.
The subdivisions east and north of the core are newer, with nine foot main floor ceilings, an island in the kitchen and a mudroom off the garage. Laundry in those houses is often on the second floor, in a small room with a machine pair, a sink and no storage at all. Fitting a counter over the machines, a tall unit for supplies and a hanging rail into that room takes drawings rather than guesswork.
Aurora is a full day out for the crew, so the install is planned as one trip with the complete run on the truck. Everything is cut, edged, finished and dry-fitted in our shop in Richmond Hill before it leaves. Step two of the project is elevations plus a photorealistic 3D rendering, so what arrives is what you approved. Kam Oveisy designs and builds; the crew measures, delivers and installs.
Where a Aurora kitchen sits in a later addition, the addition rarely meets the original house square, so the transition is designed as a panelled return rather than a butt joint.
Aurora has century houses with later back additions in the older core and newer subdivision housing with nine foot main floor ceilings east and north of it.
Driveways are deep and garages attached in the newer areas, while the older core has narrower drives and a step up at the back door.

Asked before the first call.
Our kitchen is in an addition on an older Aurora house. Does that complicate things?
It changes the measure. Additions often meet the original house out of square and at a slightly different floor level, so we measure both rooms, record the step and design the transition as a filler or a panelled return rather than pretending the two walls agree with each other.
Can you build storage into a second floor laundry room?
Yes. The usual package is a counter across the machine pair, a tall unit beside them for supplies, a rail for hanging and a pull out for the basket. We need the machine model and whether they stack or sit side by side, because that sets the counter height and the door swing.
Do you install in Aurora, or only design and build?
We do all three. The same crew that measures delivers and installs, which is why the boxes match the room. Aurora installs are booked as full days rather than half days because of the drive, so the run goes in over [n] consecutive days instead of visits spread across weeks.
