Closer to the lake, in Long Branch, Mimico and Alderwood, the houses are smaller and the kitchens are narrow. Storage has to come from height and from drawers rather than doors. A run of deep drawers under the counter holds more than a base cabinet with a shelf, and it does not ask you to kneel to reach the back. We show the drawer layout in the elevations so you can count what fits before the boxes are cut.
New condos along the Humber Bay shoreline are the third kind of job. The suite is square and level, the walls are drywall on steel, and the work is a fitted wall unit, an office or a closet built into a fixed opening. Delivery is through the loading dock on a booked window. [Typical condo building delivery rules] decide the hours, so we confirm them with the property manager before the install goes on the calendar.

Our Etobicoke house has thick original trim. Will new cabinetry look wrong next to it?
It does not have to. We record the existing casing and baseboard profiles at the site measure and choose a door profile and plinth height that sit with them. Where a cabinet meets casing, the panel is scribed to the moulding on site so there is no gap and no applied trim covering one.
Is a drawer base better than a cupboard with a shelf?
For pots, plates and pantry goods, yes. A deep drawer brings the contents out to you and uses the full depth of the box, while the back of a low shelf is dead space in practice. We usually mix the two along a run and show the split in the drawings so you can see what lands where.
Can you build a fitted unit for a condo along the lake?
Yes. We measure the opening, build the unit in sections that clear the elevator door, and joint them on site. Fixing in a condo goes into steel studs or with approved anchors rather than into concrete, and any [building certificate of insurance requirement] is filed with the property manager ahead of the delivery date.
