Custom cabinetry in Clarington
Valmont designs, builds and installs custom cabinetry in Clarington: kitchens, mudrooms, pantries, laundry rooms and built-ins across Bowmanville, Courtice, Newcastle and Orono. The municipality is large and the housing changes every few kilometres. A century house on a main street, a subdivision built last decade, a farm house at the end of a side road. The measure appointment tells us more about the job here than the address does.
Clarington, on the ground.
The recurring theme is the back door. Houses outside the subdivisions get used from the rear or the side, and whatever sits inside that door absorbs boots, coats, tools and dog leads. We draw that room properly instead of leaving it to a rack from a big box store: a bench with a drawer under it, tall lockers with a hanging rail, a shelf high enough that nobody stacks things on it, and a plinth that can be wiped.
Work is cut, edged and finished in our shop in Richmond Hill, dry-fitted there, then delivered and installed by our crew. Kam designs the job and builds it. Before anything is ordered you get elevations plus a photorealistic 3D rendering, and the quote is itemized, so the kitchen, the mudroom and the laundry each have a number you can look at, question and change on its own.
Houses outside the subdivisions in Clarington are entered from the back or side door, so that room carries the storage load.

Asked before the first call.
We use the side door, not the front. Can the storage be built around that?
That is exactly how we prefer to draw it. We ask what comes through that door in each season, then size the bench, the hooks and the lockers to it. Wet gear gets an open slot that dries, and the plinth is specified so it can be wiped down rather than repainted every spring.
Our house in Bowmanville is a century house. Do you take the trim into account?
Yes. Existing baseboard, casing and any picture rail are measured, then either returned into or scribed around. We will also tell you where the cabinetry looks better if a section of trim comes off and goes back on afterward. Nothing is cut without asking you first. It is a note in the design meeting.
Can we do the kitchen in stages?
You can stage rooms, and many clients do. Staging inside a single kitchen is harder, because the counter is templated once and the appliances need finished openings. If timing is the reason, we usually suggest keeping the kitchen whole and moving another room to a later date. The itemized quote makes that simple to see.
