Custom cabinetry in Milton
Valmont designs, builds and installs custom cabinetry in Milton: kitchens, islands, pantries, mudrooms, laundry rooms and basement millwork. The upgrade is mostly about height and depth. Tall units taken to the ceiling instead of stopping short and gathering dust on top. A pantry with pull-outs rather than fixed shelves you have to reach past. An island rebuilt with drawers on the working side and a proper knee space on the seating side. Where a builder bulkhead crosses the room, we panel it so it reads as part of the design instead of something left over.
Older Milton, around the original town core, is a different measure: smaller rooms, lower ceilings and walls that need scribing. Both kinds of job run the same way. Our ceilings are 9 ft. Should the cabinets go all the way up?
In most cases yes. Taking the tall units and the uppers to the ceiling gives real storage on the top shelf and removes the dust ledge. Where you want the wall to breathe, we stop the uppers and carry a painted panel up to the ceiling instead. Both versions appear on the rendering.
The builder island is too small. Can it be replaced without moving plumbing?
Often yes, if the new island keeps the existing water, waste and power in a usable position. We measure the rough-ins first. When the island grows in one direction only, the services usually still land inside the new box. Any plumbing or electrical change is a separate trade and a separate line on the quote.
How much notice do you need before starting?
Design starts as soon as you book a measure. The shop schedule is the part with a lead time, and it moves with finish and scope, so we give you a date in writing once the drawings are signed off. [n] weeks is typical for a kitchen of average scope. We do not cut before final measure.
