Mudrooms in Richmond Hill

Most houses take a driveway delivery and a level entry, and attached garages give the crew somewhere dry to stage boxes. We measure the entry, build and finish the run in our shop, then deliver, level it on a plinth and scribe the ends to the floor and wall. A mudroom is lockers, a bench and tall storage built to take boots, coats and daily traffic without looking worn in a year.

Mudrooms · Richmond Hill

Richmond Hill, on the ground.

Richmond Hill mixes postwar houses with closed kitchens and bulkheads around Yonge and Bayview with newer subdivision and infill houses open to a great room. Older homes usually give a back hall or a landing to work with, while newer builds hand over a purpose-built mudroom between the garage and the kitchen. Kitchens, fitted wall units, home offices, walk-in closets and bathroom vanities.

Wall units and offices in Richmond Hill are fitted joinery, so outlet and data positions are recorded at the measure and the back panels are cut for them in the shop.

What sets the price in Richmond Hill

No figures published. The drivers, in order.

DriverWhat we look at
Run length and locker countEach locker is a set of sides, a back, a rail and a shelf, so the number of bays moves the price more than the overall width does.
Bench and top materialA solid oak bench is a different line from a painted panel, and both are different again from stone over the seat.
Open lockers or doorsDoors hide the mess but add hinges, alignment and a longer finish schedule across the whole run.
Floor and wall conditionAn out-of-level tile floor or a bowed wall means more scribing on site and a taller plinth to work with.

Everything is itemized from the drawings, so the bench, the lockers and the upper cabinets each carry their own line and can be adjusted before you sign.

Mudrooms questions from Richmond Hill

Asked before the first call.

Can a mudroom be built into a narrow back hall in Richmond Hill?

Often yes. A shallow run of hooks, a bench and a tall unit at one end works in a hall where full lockers would block the path. We measure the clear width at step 01 and draw the shallowest version that still holds coats and boots.

Do you build around the garage door threshold?

Yes. The threshold, the step and the door swing are recorded at the measure, and the plinth and end panel are drawn to clear them. Nothing is cut until you have seen it in the rendering.

Can you build a wall unit around a mounted television and hide the wires?

Yes. We need the screen size, the bracket type and the position of the outlets and data points, all taken at the measure. Back panels are cut in the shop for the cable runs, and a service gap is left behind the screen so a future bracket change does not mean pulling the unit apart.

There is a bulkhead over the sink in our older Richmond Hill kitchen. Can it come out?

Sometimes. It depends on what is inside: a duct or a plumbing stack can often be rerouted, structure cannot. We open the question at the measure and design for both outcomes, so the cabinetry works whether the bulkhead stays or your contractor removes it before we deliver.
