Built-ins in King
Long private driveways and gravel approaches mean we confirm the delivery route and turning space before the truck is loaded. Boxes are built and finished in the shop, delivered and scribed to the alcove over [n] days. Built-ins are cabinets and shelving fixed to the room, drawn to the walls they sit against and scribed on site.

King, on the ground.
King runs to estate lots, rebuilt farmhouses and large houses on acreage, so rooms are generous and wall runs are long. Older houses with chimney breasts and alcoves are made for built-ins; newer rooms with flat walls gain a place for them from a run of shelving with a lit centre. Kitchens with long islands, walk-in pantries, mudrooms and boot rooms make up most of the work we do in King.
Rural addresses in King often need a gate code and a site contact, so the crew confirms both the day before install.

No figures published. The drivers, in order.
| Driver | What we look at |
|---|---|
| Linear feet and shelf count | Open shelving is the lightest line; closed cabinets with doors and drawers add parts. |
| Site conditions | Chimney breasts, sloped ceilings and out-of-square alcoves add scribing time. |
| Door construction and finish | Painted shaker at one end, veneer or fluted fronts at the other. |
| Lighting and stone | Lit shelves and a stone top on a console add wiring and a fabricator. |
Paint colour and hardware are the smallest lines. Site conditions and what the piece hides set the number.
Asked before the first call.
Do you build alcove units in King?
Yes. Alcove built-ins either side of a chimney breast are one of the most common jobs in King. Each side is measured separately and drawn as a pair.
Are built-ins in King painted on site?
No. Everything is sprayed in our shop, so the room stays clean and the finish is smoother. Scribe edges are touched up after fitting.
We are at the end of a long gravel driveway. Can the truck get in?
Usually yes. We ask for a photo of the driveway and of the turning space at the house before delivery day, and we bring the cabinets in on a smaller vehicle if the approach is tight. Wet conditions on gravel can change the plan, so we confirm the route [n] days before we load.
Our farmhouse walls are not straight. Will the cabinets still sit tight?
Yes. Gables and fillers are cut oversized in the shop and scribed to the wall on site. Where a wall leans, we hold the run plumb and take the difference in the scribe instead of tilting the boxes. Countertop templating happens after the cabinets are set, so the stone follows the finished line.
