Feature walls in King
A feature wall is fluted or slat millwork set out so the rhythm lands correctly at both ends, with any door in the wall built from the same panel. King runs to estate lots, rebuilt farmhouses and large houses on acreage, so rooms are generous and wall runs are long. Older homes bring plaster walls that are rarely plumb and need packing behind the panels, while newer builds give flat drywall and taller ceilings that suit a full-height run.

Long private driveways and gravel approaches mean we confirm the delivery route and turning space before the truck is loaded. We measure the wall and every plate on it, machine and finish the panels in our shop, then install against a checked substrate and hold the shadow gaps constant.

Can a feature wall be installed in an occupied King home?
Yes. The machining and finishing happen in our shop, so the site work is fixing panels and adjusting reveals. That keeps the dust and the noise in the room for [n] days rather than across the whole project.
Can the wall carry a television or shelves?
Yes, with blocking behind it. We need the bracket details and the screen size at step 01 so the blocking is drawn in and the panel joints fall where the mount will hide them.
Our farmhouse walls are not straight. Will the cabinets still sit tight?
Yes. Gables and fillers are cut oversized in the shop and scribed to the wall on site. Where a wall leans, we hold the run plumb and take the difference in the scribe instead of tilting the boxes. Countertop templating happens after the cabinets are set, so the stone follows the finished line.
Can you build a mudroom and boot room for a house this far out of town?
Yes, and it is one of the most common requests we get in King. Benches, hooks, drawers for gloves, tall lockers for coats and a section sized for dog gear. We ask how many people come through that door and what they carry, then set the bench height and locker widths around the answer.
