Custom closets in Burlington

A custom closet is built to the wall you have, with hanging, shelving and drawer sections set to what you actually own. Kitchens, laundry rooms, closets, media walls and condo millwork are the usual Burlington work.

Custom closets · Burlington

Burlington, on the ground.

Burlington holds postwar and older houses in Aldershot and the lakeside neighbourhoods alongside a growing set of downtown condos. Older houses tend to have narrow, deep closets on a single rod, while newer builds give a wider opening and more height to use above the shelf. House installs load from the driveway, while condo installs run through a booked service elevator and protected common areas. We measure the opening, build and dry-fit the unit in our shop, then deliver and install it, scribing the end panels to the wall on site.

Condo units in Burlington have fixed bulkheads and concrete or steel stud walls, so anchoring and cabinet depths are settled before the build.

What sets the price in Burlington

No figures published. The drivers, in order.

DriverWhat we look at
Run length and wall countA single wall is one straight run. Wrapping a corner adds a return, a filler and more scribing on site.
Drawers against open shelvingEvery drawer is a box, a front and a set of runners, so a drawer bank takes more shop hours than the same height in shelves.
Doors or open frontsOpen cubbies skip doors and hinges. Fronts add hardware, alignment time and a longer finishing schedule.
Finish and interior materialA painted front over a matching painted interior takes more shop time than a plain interior behind a wood door.

Every quote is itemized from your drawings, so you can read the closet line by line and take a drawer bank out before you sign.

Custom closets questions from Burlington

Asked before the first call.

How long does a closet take from measure to install in Burlington?

Drawings and a rendering land within [n] days of the measure, the shop build runs [n] weeks after the quote is signed, and install is [n] days. Valmont builds in Richmond Hill and delivers across the area on our own truck.

Can you build into a closet that still has damaged drywall?

Yes, as long as the wall is sound where the cabinets fix. Patching and painting behind the run is easier before we deliver, so we flag anything that needs attention at the measure rather than on install day.

Our condo board has rules about renovations. Do you deal with that?

We work to the building's requirements: a booked service elevator, protected common areas, agreed working hours and whatever insurance the property manager asks for. You or your property manager supplies the rules and the approval, and we supply the documents they request. [Typical condo building delivery rules and notice period.]

We are taking down a wall in Aldershot. When should you measure?

After the wall is out and the new framing and ceiling are in, then again after drywall if anything moved. Measuring earlier gives us a drawing, not a cut list. Design can start at any point, but the shop does not cut until the final measure is taken on the finished opening.
