Custom millwork in Newmarket
Custom millwork is anything built for a specific room that a catalogue cannot supply: built-ins, panelling, feature walls, concealed doors. Kitchens with islands and pantries, mudrooms, basement kitchenettes and wall units, and closets.

Newmarket, on the ground.
Newmarket combines older frame and brick houses with low basements near Main Street and family subdivision housing spread around them. Century houses ask for panelling that follows existing trim and scribes to plaster; newer houses ask for feature walls and built-ins that give a plain room a centre. Garage and driveway access is easy in the subdivisions, and the constraint indoors is usually the basement stair turn rather than the front door. Panels and boxes are cut and finished in the shop, dry-fitted, then delivered and scribed to your walls and ceilings on site.
In Newmarket basements the usable height is set by the ducts, so the top of the run is carried at one line across the whole wall.

No figures published. The drivers, in order.
| Driver | What we look at |
|---|---|
| Square footage of finished face | Millwork is priced by the finished surface and the number of parts behind it. |
| Material and finish | Painted MDF panels sit at one end; sequence-matched walnut and solid fluting at the other. |
| Site conditions | Out-of-square walls, sloped ceilings and bulkheads add scribing and site time. |
| Hidden function | Concealed doors, lighting, drawers behind panels and stone all add parts and trades. |
The number comes from the drawings, line by line. Colour and hardware are the smallest lines on a millwork quote.
Asked before the first call.
Do you take small millwork jobs in Newmarket?
Yes. A single built-in, a window seat or one panelled wall in Newmarket goes through the same measure, drawing and shop build as a whole kitchen.
Can millwork in Newmarket match my kitchen finish?
Yes. If we built the kitchen the finish comes from the same deck and veneer lot. If someone else did, bring a door and we match the colour or species from a sample.
Can the cabinetry be brought down our basement stairs?
That is checked at the measure. We take the stair width, the headroom over the flight and the turn at the bottom, then build the run in sections that clear it. Joints between sections are placed where a stile falls, so they are not obvious once the doors are hung.
How far ahead do we need to book a Newmarket install?
The drawings and your approval come first, then the shop build takes [n] weeks, and the install is booked from the end of that. The site has to be ready as well: finished floor down, walls painted and services roughed in. [Kam confirms current booking lead time.]
