Mudrooms in North York
A mudroom is lockers, a bench and tall storage built to take boots, coats and daily traffic without looking worn in a year. Full kitchens with islands and butler pantries lead here, along with mudrooms, walk-in closets and fitted wall units.

North York holds postwar bungalows with plaster and bulkheads on the same streets as new two-storey rebuilds with nine and ten foot ceilings. Older homes usually give a back hall or a landing to work with, while newer builds hand over a purpose-built mudroom between the garage and the kitchen. Lots are wide and driveways are deep, so a delivery truck can park on site and boxes go straight in through the front or garage door. We measure the entry, build and finish the run in our shop, then deliver, level it on a plinth and scribe the ends to the floor and wall.
A new build in North York allows one long uninterrupted run, so the decisions are about reveals, panel widths and ceiling height rather than working around what is already there.

Can a mudroom be built into a narrow back hall in North York?
Often yes. A shallow run of hooks, a bench and a tall unit at one end works in a hall where full lockers would block the path. We measure the clear width at step 01 and draw the shallowest version that still holds coats and boots.
Do you build around the garage door threshold?
Yes. The threshold, the step and the door swing are recorded at the measure, and the plinth and end panel are drawn to clear them. Nothing is cut until you have seen it in the rendering.
Can you make the fridge and dishwasher disappear into the cabinetry?
Yes, with appliance panels. The appliance has to be panel ready, so we need the model before the run is designed: hinge side, panel weight and door thickness all change the box and the reveal around it. Send us the spec sheet at the drawing stage.
We are rebuilding in North York. When should we bring you in?
As soon as the framing plan is settled and before the plumbing and electrical are roughed in. Cabinetry drives outlet heights, the sink and dishwasher positions and the size of the opening over the range. Coming in at that point avoids moving services after the walls close.
