Mudrooms in Scarborough
A mudroom is lockers, a bench and tall storage built to take boots, coats and daily traffic without looking worn in a year. Driveways are wide and front doors open onto a short hall, so delivery is straightforward and the crew can stage boxes in the garage. We measure the entry, build and finish the run in our shop, then deliver, level it on a plinth and scribe the ends to the floor and wall.
In Scarborough the usable height in a basement is set by the ducts rather than the joists, so we measure the lowest point in the room before drawing anything.

Can a mudroom be built into a narrow back hall in Scarborough?
Often yes. A shallow run of hooks, a bench and a tall unit at one end works in a hall where full lockers would block the path. We measure the clear width at step 01 and draw the shallowest version that still holds coats and boots.
Do you build around the garage door threshold?
Yes. The threshold, the step and the door swing are recorded at the measure, and the plinth and end panel are drawn to clear them. Nothing is cut until you have seen it in the rendering.
My basement has ducts running across the ceiling. Can I still get a built-in bar down there?
Yes. We measure to the underside of the lowest duct and design the bar to that height, then either box the duct in with a matching panel or stop the uppers short and add a single shelf. The shop build starts once the layout is approved and takes [n] weeks.
Do you replace just the doors, or the whole kitchen?
We build complete cabinetry: boxes, doors and drawer fronts, all made in our own shop and dry-fitted before delivery. Refacing an existing carcass is not what we do, because in a kitchen of that age the box is usually the part that has failed, not the door.
